PORTFOLIO EPIC – Decision Support Kaufman Hall Data Automation Created a scalable data automation solution that pulls data from EPIC’s Clarity and Caboodle databases for targeted hospital billing (HB) and professional billing (HB) data. The solution provides several business-driven options for both daily and custom extracts. Users can choose the start and end date for the extract and the source of the range, Service Date, Post Date, or Last Updated Date. Users can also turn on or off any one of the custom 30 extracts. There is also the option to have the extracts export to one text file for each or 10 load balanced files for each. Finally, the solution uses SFTP to send to Kaufman Hall for loading into their database. Kaufman Hall is a web-excel style ad-hoc reporting tool. Technology: Developed in Microsoft SQL Server using SSIS and Stored Procedures. Users: 12 NextGen - Centralized Data Warehouse and Data Automation I worked on a team of two people, myself and an architect, to develop a custom data warehouse for over 50 Planned Parenthood affiliates. Based on the architect’s design, I developed tables, queries, SSIS packages, stored procedures, and functions to support the intake of data files, normalized the data, conformed the data, and then populated our star schema data warehouse. I was also tasked with extensive raw data analysis and worked with business representatives to determine the appropriate business rules for handling data issues. When needed I built self-evaluation, self-healing, QA checks, logging and alerts into the solution. Technology: Developed in Microsoft SQL Server using SSIS and Stored Procedures. Users: 200 🏆Confidential – Data Automation and Integration I signed a confidentiality agreement for this solution. I can share the solution design and technology, but I am not allowed to share the content or the organization. For this solution I created a scalable data automation solution that pulls data from multiple sources. These sources were a mix of FTP files (text, csv, and XML), direct connection to cloud services (AWS, Azure, and Google), and the use of API data transfers. Extensive raw data analysis was required to create a stable and predictable integration process that was self-evaluating and self-healing. Data was then normalized, conformed and pulled into a custom data warehouse. Additional data marts, certified data report repositories, and OLAP solutions were developed. Logging and alerts were also built into the solution. I worked with business report writing teams to train them on how to find and use data from the certified data report repositories and OLAP cubes. I also trained their IT department to support the solution going forward. I build maintenance features into the solution to help make the transition even easier. I also provided comprehensive user and technical documentation. Technology: Developed in Microsoft SQL Server using SSIS and Stored Procedures. Specifications for each raw material could be reviewed using this system and staff could enter quality inspection and testing results for each raw material received. A rating for each supplier was calculated based on these results. Suppliers are notified of their rating status and any off grade traced back to the raw material they sent. They were charged the cost of the off grade.
